Vamos tentar manter aqui, um relato mais ou menos pormenorizado de nossas aventuras e desventuras com o Jeep MB Willys 1942 DOD 17 de Setembro de 1942.

A história é muito longa. É preciso paciência e paz para ser contada. O leitor também precisará ter tranquilidade para seguir nossos passos e entender como chegamos até aqui.

Não há dúvidas, que o início do início se deu com a minissérie americana "Band of Brothers", lançada em 2001. Essa minissérie foi importantíssima para a compreensão da Segunda Guerra Mundial e chamou nossa atenção para o estudo desse tema.

Em 2004, embalados com a história do Major Winters, seguimos para a Normandia durante os festejos de 60 anos do Dia D. Não nos arrependemos – foi uma verdadeira descoberta, e um novo horizonte se descortinou para nós. Não bastasse isso, tivemos ainda o "Resgate do Soldado Ryan".

Tivemos a ajuda de alguns radioamadores para essa primeira viagem, e nos envolvemos com o pessoal do 507 PIR durante a inauguração de um monumento em seu nome, próximo ao rio Merderet.

Também acompanhamos a saga do 506 PIR e seguimos a excursão de Stephen Ambrose com alguns veteranos desse pelotão, incluindo o sniper Shift Powers.
